Good news: Postal worker rescues man who fell, lay injured for 10 days
Much of the news we read on a daily basis can create a somewhat somber outlook on life, which is a shame because it’s not necessarily an accurate reflection of reality.
Happy endings aren’t just for Hollywood and they happen all around us every day, but it’s not always easy to find.
The Korea Times wants to help bring those stories to you on a regular basis in a new section titled “Good News” where readers can find a dose of optimism and maybe even some inspiration.

A U.S. Postal worker from Hope Hull, Ala. sensed something was awry when she saw that a resident on her route had stopped picking up his mail.
Cissy Cartwright had been delivering mail in the area for over 20 years and decided that it might be best to check in on the home in case anything had happened.
66-year-old Tommy Hope had taken a serious fall in his home, which is located in a secluded and rural area.
Hope couldn’t find a way to get help for ten whole days so it was a stroke of luck that Cartwright decided to open the unlocked front door and call out his name.
Although Hope was dehydrated and exhausted, he had enough energy to notify the postal worker that he was in the house and needed help.
It was later reveled that he had broken bones in his arm and suffered damage to his leg and hip.
The good news is that he was rescued in time to make his way back to a full recovery at a local hospital.
Cartwright was nominated for the Postmaster General’s Hero Award after news spread about what had happened.
She mentioned to a local news station that the area she works in is a tight knit community and that Hope especially had been kind to her in the past by presenting small gifts to her around the holidays that were meant for her children.
