Hallyu superstar Bae Yong-joon to marry actress Park Soo-jin this fall
Hallyu megastar actor Bae Yong-joon, 43, and actress Park Soo-jin, 30, are getting married this fall, Korean media reported Thursday.
KeyEast Entertainment, their agency, said in an announcement on its website that the pair started dating in February this year.
The agency said both sides have been given their parents’ blessings and that the wedding is in the process of being planned.
KeyEast head Yang Geun-hwan told Yonhap in a phone interview that Bae kept the relationship a secret to avoid the paparazzi and that no one in the agency aside from him knew about the marriage.
Yang said Park is not pregnant and that the two have rushed into marriage after three months out of conviction in their relationship.
Bae is widely beloved as “Yon-sama” to his Japanese fans and is credited as one of Hallyu’s most important contributors following his leading role in the 2002 television series “Winter Sonata.”
Although he has not acted since a 2007 fantasy drama, Bae set up KeyEast, which manages A-listers like Kim Soo-hyun.
Park is a former member of K-pop girl group Sugar and debuted in 2002. In 2006, she began appearing in dramas and signed with KeyEast last year in March.
