‘Keep Hong Myung-bo? Have some more yeot!’
A box full of yeot delivered to Korean Football Association in second yeot raid
“Keep Hong Myung-bo? Have some more yeot!”
This time, a box full of yeot (Korean toffee) was delivered to the Korean Football Association’s office, according to a post on an online community’s bulletin board on Monday.
It is the second time the web café, “We Lost Because of You,” managed by Cho has used the traditional Korean sweets to humiliate the national football team. The message said the community had mailed to the association a parcel containing two kilograms (about five pounds) of yeot.
“They were leftovers from the ‘funeral service’ performance we held at Incheon International Airport,” said the message. “Funeral service,” as the community freely noted, referred to its malicious prank on Wednesday, when members threw yeots to Korea’s footballers returning from their disastrous World Cup.
One community member shouted at the scene, “The nation’s football has died.”
The post added, “The parcel includes our demands for and members’ opinions about Korean football’s current status. We think someone has to step up for the system to change.”
