Description courtesy of the Hollywood Bowl:

With the crashing of cymbals, the power of over a hundred voices and the sonority of orchestral brass and strings, Gustavo Dudamel leads his first ever Carmina Burana in Los Angeles! “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor”, attributed to J.S. Bach. Such a monumental piece, not just for organ players, but composers and artists alike. Howard Shore made use of it for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” to represent the Kraken, and many a horror scene has been punctuated by it’s menacing tones.
