Hyundai customer hit by car inside dealership showroom
You’ve probably heard people say to the dealer “hit me” at casinos, but what are the chance of literally getting hit by a car inside an auto dealership?
Allegedly it happened last month at Plaza Hyundai of Brooklyn, New York, as a federal lawsuit was filed on Monday, according to the New York Daily News.
Customer Phillip Bermudez, 36, claimed that he was sitting at a salesman’s desk at Plaza Hyundai of Brooklyn last month when a new Hyundai Santa Fe zoomed about 20 feet across the showroom floor, striking him and pinning him against the wall.
Bermudez asserts he suffered multiple injuries to his head and body and has not been able to return to work since the Dec. 15 accident.
Bermudez’s lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, said: “People go to automobile showrooms for the purpose of purchasing cars, not to get violently struck by one.”
The Daily News said the dealership’s manager did not return a call seeking comment.
