Hyundai names flagship SUV the Palisade
SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Yonhap) — Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea’s biggest carmaker by sales, said Friday it has officially named its 2020 flagship SUV the Palisade, with a plan to debut the new SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.
The all-new SUV is named after the Pacific Palisades, an affluent and beautiful neighborhood in Southern California, Hyundai said in a statement. The U.S. is the world’s most important automobile market.
The three-row Hyundai Palisade will offer spacious eight-passenger seating with high-end materials, advanced convenience and safety features in the cabin, and ample cargo space for growing leisure activities, the statement said.
The Palisade will be introduced at the LA Auto Show on Nov. 28 (U.S. time) and will be launched in the U.S. market in the summer of 2019, it said.
Domestically, Hyundai plans to launch the Palisade next month. The Palisade is replacing the Veracruz, a large SUV that sat atop Hyundai’s SUV lineup and has been out of production since 2015.
