Hyundai SUV receives blessing as new popemobile

It looks as if the Vatican has a new chosen one in the form of a Hyundai SUV.

Pope Francis made his way through St. Peter’s Square Wednesday riding his new custom modified Santa Fe for the first time.

This isn’t the first time he’s ridden a Korean-made automobile though.

Pope Francis also rode in a Kia Soul when he visited South Korea last year.

Car manufacturers from around the world have been donating vehicles to be used by the pope since 1909.

Historically, Mercedez-Benz has dominated public appearances with past popes.
