Injured US Ambassador Lippert returns to work
SEOUL, March 19 (Yonhap) — U.S. Ambassador to Seoul Mark Lippert, recently injured in an attack by a knife-wielding assailant, said Thursday he returned to work following a two-week absence.
Lippert took to Twitter to announce his comeback, saying it was “great to walk into work today” with his wife, Robyn, and their dog, Grigsby, from their residence in Seoul. He added the same message in Korean and uploaded two photos.
Lippert was seriously injured on March 5 in a knife attack by a South Korean extremist. Lippert sustained wounds to his face and wrist and was hospitalized for six days.
On Tuesday, Lippert accompanied U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Russel on the latter’s visit to the foreign ministry in Seoul.
