IU gives $92K to fund for Children’s Day
May 5, 2015
In celebration of Children’s Day in South Korea, K-pop singer IU has donated about $92,000 (100 million won) to low-income children, Yonhap reported.
According to agency LOEN Entertainment, the 21-year-old gave to ChildFund Korea under her name Monday.
ChildFund is an international organization that helps children through education, health, nutrition, safety and employability.
This is not the star’s first act of generosity — in 2012, she gave about $9,200 (10 million won) to her alma mater, Dongduk Women’s High School, and last year she sent all proceeds from her concert toward helping the survivors of the Sewol tragedy.
