JYJ, EXID members split up after 1-year relationship
SEOUL Sept. 13 (Yonhap) — Kim Jun-su, a member of the popular K-pop boy band JYJ, and Hani of the girl group EXID have split up after dating for one year, according to sources in the music scene on Tuesday.
“The two had maintained a good relationship despite the emergence of rumors of their split,” one of the sources told Yonhap News Agency. “I understand that they naturally became estranged from each other due to their tight schedules.”
The singers announced on Jan. 1 that they had been in a romantic relationship since last fall.
Their respective agencies confirmed the separation after the Yonhap report.
“I confirmed this from her,” an official with the girl group’s agency, Banana Culture, told Yonhap by phone. “I don’t know exactly when, but I understand they naturally became estranged due to busy schedules.”
An official of C-JeS Entertainment that manages JYJ also said, “Yes, he separated from Hani.”
“I couldn’t get further details because he is busy preparing for a musical performance set to begin at 8 p.m. tonight,” the official added.
