JYP partners with Chinese company

JYP Pictures, an affiliate of the nation’s leading entertainment agency JYP Entertainment, is set to co-produce a film with Dongbang Entertainment Group.
This will be the first joint production between the two firms.
Dongbang Group is the largest state-run production company in China, and has made it on the list of China’s Top 30 Cultural Enterprises for two years in a row.
According to JYP, officials from both companies, including CEOs from each side signed a formal contract at the office of Dongbang Group in China, Wednesday.
JYP Pictures will provide expertise in the production and making of the film, with Dongbang Group investing financially in the production.
The genre of the film is drama, and there is scheduled to be productions in dance and songs as well.
Release of the film is scheduled to be in the second half of next year on the Chinese market.
“Our collaboration movie will be unique while enhancing synergy in cultural exchange between the two countries,” said Pyo Jong-rok, representative director of JYP Pictures.
