K-pop diva Sunmi to go on world tour starting February
K-pop diva Sunmi will go on a world concert tour starting next month, her first since the former Wonder Girls member launched a solo career in 2017, her management agency said Wednesday.
The tour will kick off on Feb. 24 in Seoul and bring her to eight cities in the United States and Canada, as well as Hong Kong, Taipei and Tokyo, according to Makeus Entertainment.
Following the first round of the tour, dates in European cities will be added for a second stage, Makeus said.
Sunmi debuted in Wonder Girls in 2007 before officially debuting as a solo artist in 2017 after the girl band’s disbanding the same year.
Her first solo work, “Gashina,” in 2017 propelled her into the ranks of top-flight K-pop artists. She has since recorded two more hit songs, “Heroine” and “Siren.”
Ticket sales for her inaugural Seoul concert will open on Jan. 22.
