K-pop group Jewelry disbanding after 14 years
January 7, 2015
K-Pop girl group Jewelry is disbanding after 14 years, agency Star Empire announced Wednesday via SNS.
The group debuted in 2001 with “I Love You” and has undergone several member changes throughout the years.
Current members Kim Eun-jung, Ha Joo-yeon, Park Se-mi and Kim Ye-won recorded their last album, “HOT & COLD,” in July 2013.
Jewelry’s hit songs since debut have included “I Really Like You,” “One More Time” and “Superstar.”
The group’s end comes with Kim Eun-jung’s departure from the agency to pursue acting, as well as Ha and Park’s decision to not renew their contracts. Only Kim Ye-won will remain with the agency, Star Empire told Yonhap.
Notable past members of Jewelry include Park Jung-ah and Seo In-young.
