K-pop star Kim Hyun-joong accused of assaulting girlfriend

K-pop star Kim Hyun-joong, 28, has been accused of assaulting his girlfriend.

According to Songpa Police Friday, a woman who claims she is Kim’s girlfriend filed an assault complaint against the singer Wednesday.

The woman, identified as Choi, said she was repeatedly assaulted by Kim at his apartment in Songpa district, southeastern Seoul, from May to July.

The woman in her late 20s told police that Kim punched and kicked her, leaving bruises on her face, chest, arms and backside, requiring two weeks of medical treatment in May.

In July the situation worsened, and she said she was again hit, sending her to the hospital for six weeks.

Choi told police the alleged assaults followed arguments between the two about other women. The police did not elaborate.

Choi gave a statement, and submitted medical records and other documents proving their romantic relationship, according to police.

They have been dating since 2010, she said.

“We keep contacting Kim’s agency, Key East Entertainment, to schedule a time to question him,” Jung Chae-min, a police officer at Songpa Station, said.

The agency reportedly said that they are looking into the situation and will soon release a statement, according to news reports.

Meanwhile, Kim is flying out to Bangkok, Thailand today for the next performance of his “2014 Kim Hyun Joong World Tour” on Sunday.

      “Best man in the world”??? You know this how??? Your beloved oppa is just another guy, not the most amazing person in the world- and apparently he’s not the greatest at anger management or else he wouldn’t be in this situation. Wake up to reality that all of your amazing and beloved idols are just people. Their image of perfection is just that- an image. You don’t know what he’s like in reality. I’m a SS501 fan- so sure, first hearing about this was a bit of a surprise- but let’s just face the facts, you don’t know who they are when the camera isn’t on.

    Oh come on! “Dating since 2010″? Get your facts right, other web’s have mentioned that they’ve known each other since 2012 and that they strted dating only recently. This is soooo messed up, I cannot beleive this…I just saw a vid where he got off or was getting on the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. I guess, he’ll be in Korea by now. But I was glad he still had supporters in the airport cheering him on.

    I am at cross roads, being a warring feminist, I cannot accept such a news but if he’s proven not guilty, the girl can go to hell!

    Why didn’t she break up with him? Why did she choose to report him? It’s hard to believe this is the truth. Destroying someone reputation just like that? Reporting him now, when he is not even in Korea?

    KHJ report he hit her once but not twice so is she telling the truth or
    just to destroy his reputation. They are fooling around the second time so
    if the girl is hurt cannot put the blame on him. She is the once should be blamed. Fighting KHJ we will always support you
