K-pop’s G-Dragon to hold art exhibition
K-pop idol G-Dragon of popular hip-hop group Big Bang will help bring together modern art and pop culture through an exhibition called “PEACEMINUSONE” at Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) from June 9 to August 23, the singer’s agency YG Entertainment announced Tuesday.
G-Dragon, an icon of music, fashion and design in Korea, wants to help people understand modern art by reinterpreting his cultural vision into the K-pop genre.
The star has picked 12 domestic and international artists for the show, including Michael Scoggins, Sophie Clements and James Clar. The exhibition, which includes G-Dragon’s own creations, will present a total of 200 art pieces, including photographs, sculptures, paintings and installations and will also be staged in Shanghai and Singapore.
