Kang Jung-ho to start at third for first time
April 29, 2015
By Brian Han
Pittsburgh Pirates’ infielder Kang Jung-ho will make his first start as a third baseman Wednesday in a road game against the Chicago Cubs.
This will mark his fifth career start as a Major League Baseball (MLB) player.
He played the hot corner a few times during spring training and mentioned that he felt “comfortable” despite technically being listed as a shortstop.
Kang will take the place of Josh Harrison who is taking the game off to rest.
The South Korean is batting .182 in 22 at-bats with 4 RBIs — all of which occurred during his time as a replacement starting shortstop for Jordy Mercer in the previous week.
