KBS chief receives award for outstanding contributions to Asian television industry
SEOUL, Dec. 2 (Yonhap) — The head of South Korea’s leading broadcaster KBS has received an award for his contributions to developing the Asian broadcasting and television industry at the 21st Asian Television Awards ceremony, the broadcaster said Friday.
Ko Dae-young was honored at the annual awards ceremony held Thursday at Suntec Convention Center in Singapore, which lauded KBS’ remarkable business accomplishments in producing competitive content such as the widely successful drama “Descendants of the Sun,” as well as spearheading the growth of the entertainment industry in the Asia-Pacific region and the world.
“The award, which I received as the representative of the organization, will provide fresh momentum for all KBS producers who are always striving to put forth creative and outstanding programs,” the recipient said in his acceptance speech. “We will continue our efforts to produce leading content that suits the taste of both domestic and international audiences,” he added.
