Ki Sung-yeung scores his first EPL goal of the season
December 28, 2015
South Korean midfielder Ki Sung-yeung scored his first English Premier League goal of the season to pull manager-less Swansea City out of the bottom three.
The 26-year-old struck just nine minutes into the game Saturday as Swansea (4-7-8, 19 points) held on to win 1-0 at home against West Bromwich (6-5-8, 23 points). Angel Rangle’s shot hit the post and Ki was in the right place at the right time. When West Brom’s goalkeeper fumbled as he tried to gather the ball, Ki pounced for his first goal since May.
Swansea, who fired manager Gary Monks over two weeks ago, had not won a Premier League home game in four months.
