Kia Motors renews sponsorship with Rafael Nadal
SEOUL, May 1 (Yonhap) — Kia Motors Corp., South Korea’s No. 2 carmaker, said Friday it has extended its sponsorship deal with 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal until 2020.
Under the renewed five-year contract, the Spanish tennis player will continue his role as the brand ambassador for Kia for the next five years, the South Korean auto firm said in a press release.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“The passionate and dynamic style of playing that Nadal has shown on the tennis court is perfectly in line with the brand identity that Kia is going for,” a Kia official said.
Kia has been sponsoring the tennis star since their first contract reached in 2004, and Nadal, who is currently ranked world No. 4, has been working to promote the company and its vehicles since 2006, according to Kia.
