Kim Sei-young jumps 6 spots in women’s golf rankings after runner-up finish at major
SEOUL, Sept. 18 (Yonhap) — South Korean golfer Kim Sei-young climbed six spots to reach No. 13 in the latest women’s rankings Tuesday after a runner-up finish at an LPGA major.
Kim made the biggest jump among those inside the top 20, after tying for second place at the Evian Championship in France, the final major of the 2018 LPGA season.
Kim was tied for the lead with Amy Olson at the turn but committed a double bogey at the 10th and two more bogeys on the back nine en route to a second-place finish.
Among other South Koreans, Park Sung-hyun stayed at No. 1 for the fifth consecutive week. Park In-bee, who tied for eighth at Evian, moved up a spot to No. 3 and traded places with countrywoman Ryu So-yeon.
Kim In-kyung was the fourth South Korean inside the top 10 at No. 10, the same place as the previous week.
