Looks like very good news for new KBS drama “The Producers”: South Korea’s favorite leading faces on TV are Kim Soo-hyun and Gong Hyo-jin, according to the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation (KOBACO) Thursday.
More than 3,600 K-drama viewers ages 13 to 59 participated in a poll on consumer preferences, conducted April 19 to May 2, Yonhap reported.
For male leads, Kim Soo-hyun came on top with 33.6 percent, followed by Ji Sung (27 percent), Cha Seung-won (24.9), Jo In-sung (19.9) and Kim Myung-min (18.8), KOBACO said.
For females, Gong Hyo-jin (34.8 percent) was trailed closely by Ha Ji-won (31.8), Lee Bo-young (24.2), Jeon Ji-hyun (22.7) and Moon Chae-won (16.9).
When broken down by gender of respondents, however, men preferred Cha Seung-won (33.9), then Kim Myung-min (32.9), then Kim Soo-hyun (27.8). Ha Ji-won ranked first among men, at 29.2 percent, followed by Moon Chae-won (26.1) and Gong Hyo-jin (22.4).
Among women, Kim Soo-hyun remained No. 1 with 36.6 percent, followed by Ji Sung (32.6) and Cha Seung-won (20.1); female leads ranked Gong Hyo-jin (41.5), Ha Ji-won (33.2) and Lee Bo-young (29.9).
Respondents chose Kim Soo-hyun and Jeon Ji-hyun as “best couple” with 12.5 percent. Ji Sung and Hwang Jung-eum (10.1) and So Ji-sub and Gong Hyo-jin (7.6) followed.
Gong and Kim Soo-hyun are the leads of “The Producers,” which premiered earlier this month.
