Kim Yuna takes early lead
February 19, 2014
South Korean figure skater Kim Yuna has taken an early lead with a dazzling short program in the ladies’ singles competition here on Wednesday.
The reigning Olympic champion scored 74.92 points to shoot to the top of the standings midway through the competition. It’s the highest short program score by any female skater this season, but the initial reaction is that the judges didn’t give out nearly high enough score.
Kim later said that she didn’t warm up well and didn’t feel all that confident going in, and felt relieved with the result.
