Korea Times Project to explore history of Korean immigration in 13 regions over 4 countries
In partnership with Bright Future Foundation to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Korean independence
The Korea Times, in partnership with Bright Future Foundation, will visit 13 regions in four countries to explore the diaspora of Korean immigrants in time for the 70th anniversary of Korean independence.
About 3 million Koreans live in and around North America since the first immigrants arrived in Hawaii more than 110 years ago.
The project will tell the stories of these immigrants through the eyes of each local Korean American community.
The project will begin in Riverside, Calif., where a statue of independence activist and Korean American pioneer Dosan Ahn Chang-ho stands, and make course, from Alaskan tundras, Canada, Mexico and Cuba to the Florida Keys.
