‘Korea Week’ to unfold in New York next fall
October 5, 2015
“Korea Week” will open next year in fall in New York City in an effort to further introduce Korean culture to locals, the New York Korean Consulate General said Saturday.
According to Consul General Kim Ki-hwan, plans are underway to form a preparation committee with the help of the local Korean Cultural Service, aT Center, KOTRA, Korea Society and other organizations.
“President Park Geun-hye emphasized the importance of promoting Korean culture several times during her recent visit to New York,” Kim said.
He said plans have begun to bring the KBS show “Open Music Concert” to Madison Square in Manhattan next September as a part of the week.
