Korean actor Kim Bo-sung joins high-profile charity
Actor Kim Bo-sung became the first male celebrity to join the Community Chest of Korea’s high-profile charity Honor Society, Yonhap reported.
The 48-year-old donated about $10,000 toward the Sewol sinking tragedy in April and about $20,000 to the blind and children’s poverty in July.
As a member of the society, which was started in 2007, he agreed to give a total of about $100,000 over five years as a member of the society.
Honor Society has 574 members who have donated a combined $64.6 million. Kim is the 60th member from the Seoul region.
Other notable members include female celebrities Hyun-young, Soo-ae and Hyun-sook, as well as sports stars Park Ji-sung, Hong Myung-bo, Kim Tae-gyun, Choi Na-yeon, Kim Hae-rim, Ryu Joong-il and Jin Gap-yong.
