By Park Ju-yeon
An essay contest about the April 29 Los Angeles riots will be put on by the Korean American Coalition.
The KAC said Thursday the contest is an opportunity to remind young Korean Americans about an important chapter in Korean American history.
Fifteen winners will take home a total of $3,800, with the first-place winner receiving $1,000, KAC said.
The deadline for entries for the two groups — high school students and college students — is April 12. Essays must run 750 to 1,000 words.
