Korean American student goes missing at Chicago airport
Chicago Police are looking for a 19-year-old Korean American college student who went missing at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on Saturday.
Hye Min Choi checked in his luggage for United Airlines flight 5892 from Chicago to Greensboro, N.C. at around 3 p.m.
According to a police press release, he did not board the plane or re-book another flight.
Choi, a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, was on his way to fly home to North Carolina after completing his first year in college.
Choi’s last contact with family was made around 5 p.m., when he called his father. The flight was scheduled for 7:40 p.m. His sister said his credit card was swiped at a McDonald’s inside the airport at around 7 p.m.
His luggage arrived at Greensboro and was picked up by his mother.
He is approximately 5-foot-4 with short black hair and glasses, police said.
