Korean cultural center DC bringing 15-artist exhibition
By The Korea Times Washington DC staff
An art exhibition featuring 15 Korean female artists is coming to Korean Cultural Center D.C. from May 27 to June 12.
Titled “Blossoming Washington Pear V,” the exhibit will show about 50 works, including paintings, sculptures, metalworking and ceramics, from members of the NokMee Association, a group comprised of art graduates from Ehwa Womans University in Korea.
“Like the hearty pear blossom itself, these artists have demonstrated a remarkable resiliency and graceful beauty in their cross-cultural, international lives,” KCCDC writes on its website. “The result is fertile ground for artistic expression.”
Komeila Okim, a professor at Montgomery College, will curate the exhibition.
Entrance to the exhibition is free of charge. KCCDC is located at 2370 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008.
