Korean cultural festival to be held inside Virginia’s Korean Bell Garden in May
A Korean cultural festival will be held inside Virginia’s Korean Bell Garden next month to celebrate the garden’s third anniversary.
Visitors will play traditional Korean games, experience taekwondo, taste Korean cuisine, see a children’s writing contest and watch performances.
The event is hosted by the Korean American Cultural Committee, the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority and the Korean Cultural Center in DC.
Lee Jung-hwa, KACC president, said the Bell Garden is an icon of Korean culture in American society and symbolizes peace between the two countries.
She said she hopes families and friends come out to the festival in part to instill Korean traditional culture into the younger generation.
Plans for the garden started in 2005. It was completed in 2012 and holds a Bell of Peace and Harmony.
