Korean defender gets marriage proposal at Women’s World Cup
South Korean women’s national soccer team player Hwang Bo-ram is having a time of her life at the the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.
First, she and her teammates made history as they achieved their goal of winning for the first time at the quadrennial tournament and advancing to the round of 16. Just before that, her boyfriend got down on his knees.
The 27-year-old defender received the proposal after her team tied with Costa Rica in Montreal on June 13.
The Korean Football Association’s official Twitter webpage on Monday posted two photos that showed three people holding posters saying “Bo-ram, will you marry me?”
Hwang reportedly answered that if they win against Spain she would marry him, and the rest, as they say, is history.
