Korean rock band Broken Valentine member Van dies
August 3, 2015
Van (real name Kim Kyung-min), a member of rock band Broken Valentine, was announced dead Tuesday in Korea, according to local media.
“We’re having to suddenly announce this tragic news,” Broken Valentine said via social media. “Our vocalist Van, who has been with us for 13 years, passed away after an unexpected accident.”
Details of Kim’s death are unclear, but local media reported he may have drowned while on vacation with friends.
The five-member band debuted in 2002 and has been active under the name Broken Valentine since 2007. In 2011, they garnered attention after an appearance on KBS’s “Top Band,” and again in 2013 on Mnet’s “Era of the Band.”
