Korean singer Joanne dies aged 26 in LA
Joanne Lee, a 26-year-old former Korean singer who was living and working in Los Angeles, died Tuesday after a car accident, Dispatch reported.
Legally named Lee Yeon-ji, Joanne was in a car accident on Nov. 26 and fought for her life for a week before passing away in a hospital.
A source at Joanne’s workplace, a Los Angeles company, confirmed her death and said she had been working in the accounting department.
Her brother, Lee Seung-hyun, former member of K-pop boy band Take, is known to have arrived in Los Angeles following news of the accident.
Joanne debuted in 2001 with “First Love” and had a string of hit songs including “A Sunny Day” and “Innocent.” Lee appeared on the Korean television show “Superstar K” in 2012.

Wow. I just discovered this beautiful young woman with this powerful voice today while on Facebook via AMTC. My condolences to family and friends. It is said that the cemetery is the richest place on earth because of those that passed away and never got to write that book, sing that song, invent that million dollar product or the cure for cancer. Joanne Lee’s voice will continue to be heard even after her death. Even now after having listened to her songs, I can still hear her voice echoing through the atmosphere. The bible talks about the mantle passed between Elisha and Elijah. If this is true, I hope that she was mentoring others and they caught her vision. Of course they can not take her place but can continue with her legacy training others to develop their voice. Wow, she was TRULY an anointed woman to be compared with Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston even. Peace and blessings.

I have no way of reaching out to you so I guess this will go here.
Joanne Lee, I know you didn’t mean to hurt my brother. I know everything that happened was an accident but I sat idly back and watched you go from a young girl into a successful musician. I spited you.
I thought how can God reward this person who condemned my brother? I lived filled with hatred for you for so long. Eventually my love for Jonathan grew thus filling the cracks, and I realized God blessed us with him. Unfortunately he passed away, and I never got to reach out to you.
I promised him and myself that I would become successful so I could make you see the wrong you did, but I realized that is not the right path. I am sorry I didn’t get to reach out to you and give you my forgiveness. I’m sorry if any of what you did burdened you. I forgive you Joanne, and I’m sure Jonathan forgives you too. May you be at peace.
To your family, in the small chance that they may read this, I am sorry for your loss. She was a great person.
Tell my brother I love him more than life could tell and please take care of him up there.
Rest in peace.
