Korean singer Shin Hae-chul undergoes surgery after cardiac arrest

Singer Shin Hae-chul, 46, underwent a three-hour surgery at a Seoul hospital following cardiac arrest Wednesday, Yonhap reported.
Shin went into cardiac arrest around 1 p.m. and was transported to a nearby emergency room, where he was taken into surgery at 8 p.m. after tests.
KCA Entertainment, Shin’s label, said doctors are in the process of figuring out the cause of the heart attack.
He will need additional surgery, KCA said.
Shin, a noted and controversial musician in Korea, debuted in 1988.
