‘La La Land’ concert coming to S. Korea in June

SEOUL, March 16 (Yonhap) — A concert celebrating the music of American box office hit “La La Land” will come to South Korea in June, its organizer said Thursday.

“La La Land In Concert: A Live To Film Celebration” will be held at the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul on June 3-4 and at the KBS Hall in Busan on June 6, according to Fake Virgin Seoul, the show’s South Korean organizer.

The live shows, part of a world tour that kicks off in May in Los Angeles by a 70-member American orchestra will be conducted by composer Justin Hurwitz, who won two Academy Awards last month for his work on the movie’s music.

“La La Land” won six Academy Awards, including best director for Damien Chazelle and best actress for Emma Stone. Hurwitz won best original score as well as best original song for “City of Stars,” shared with songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The film was also a huge success in South Korea, selling 3.43 million tickets as of Wednesday.

Tickets go on sale from Monday at the Lotte Concert Hall website.
