LA names street corner ‘Korean Cultural Center Square’
October 26, 2015
By The Korea Times Los Angeles staff
The corner of Vermont Avenue and 24th Street near Koreatown in Los Angeles was named “Korean Cultural Center, Inc. Square” by city officials Saturday.
A Korean American community center was established across the street from the square in 1972. The building within the square currently houses a Korean church.
A proposal for the naming was first brought to suggestion by former City Coucilman Bernard Park and revived by City Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson.
