Ladies’ Code manager appeals prison sentence
Ladies’ Code manager Park, who was driving on the night of an accident that left two members dead and others injured, faced the appeals court for his first hearing Wednesday after being handed 14 months in prison in January.
Park, 27, was found guilty of causing the car crash that took the lives of Ladies’ Code members EunB and RiSe. He appealed for a smaller sentence, local media reported.
He accepted his indictment but told the court he took lengths to help the passengers as much as possible following the crash, including calling 119.
Prosecutors, on the other hand, said Park should receive a longer sentence of two years and six months.
On Sept. 3 last year, a rental van carrying the four members of Ladies’ Code and two staff members crashed into a protective wall on an expressway. It was raining, and later investigations concluded the van had a faulty back wheel and that Park had been speeding.
