Lee Byung-hun blackmailers released on bail

The two women jailed for a blackmail attempt on actor Lee Byung-hun will be released on bail for the first time since their arrest last September, Yonhap reported.
The Seoul High Court said Monday it made the decision to release model Lee Ji-yeon and GLAM member Kim Da-hee based on a leniency request filed by the actor earlier this year and on model Lee’s need for chronic disease treatment.
Last year, model Lee and Kim blackmailed Lee for a sum of about $5 million in a scandal that involved a sexually suggestive conversation held inside his marital home with actress Lee Min-jung.
In January, a district court sentenced both women to prison terms — model Lee to 14 months and Kim to one year.
Ruling on their appeals will be held March 26.
