Lee Young-ae to make acting comeback after 10 years
Top South Korean actress Lee Young-ae is returning to the small screen for her first acting project in 10 years, Yonhap reported.
The 44-year-old actress will lead the television drama “Saimdang, the Herstory” next year, according to production company Group 8.
“Saimdang” will follow the life of the noted Confucian artist whose face adorns the Korean 50,000 won bill. Lee will take on the role of two separate women — as a college professor specializing in Korean art history and as Saimdang — to draw a picture of the past and present.
The project will be Lee’s first drama since the massive Hallyu hit “Jewel in the Palace” in 2004, and her first acting role since the box office hit “Lady Vengeance” in 2005.
“Saimdang” will begin filming in June.
