Leonardo DiCaprio snaps photo with U.N. secretary general
Leonardo DiCaprio visited United Nations headquarters in New York Tuesday and snapped a photo with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, which he uploaded onto his Facebook.
“Today, I have the privilege to speak at the United Nations #Climate2014 Summit where world leaders are expected to announce the bold steps they will take to tackle climate change. Thank you Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon,” he wrote.
Ban designated the actor as a U.N. Messenger of Peace on Sept. 16.
DiCaprio attended the U.N. Climate Summit Tuesday to promote environmental health.
The “Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation” was established in 1998 to protect “the Earth’s last wild places and implement solutions to build a more harmonious relationship between humanity and the natural world,” according to the United Nations.
