Long Beach introduces emergency preparedness website
LONG BEACH (CNS) – Long Beach officials introduced a website today offering residents information about how to prepare for a major disaster.
The website — www.longbeach.gov/disasterpreparedness — includes information on emergency preparedness, links to state and federal preparedness websites and recommendations for families with infants, seniors and pets.
“Long Beach’s new disaster-preparedness website will help our residents mitigate the impacts of natural or man-made disasters and prepare themselves and their families as much as possible before an incident happens,” Mayor Bob
Foster said.
City officials urged residents to prepare for emergencies by assembling a supply kit that will allow them to remain self-sufficient for at least five days.
