Medals for PyeongChang Winter Olympics

Sports Minister Do Jong-hwan (C) and other officials attend a ceremony in Seoul on Sept. 21, 2017, unveiling the design of medals to be awarded at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Organizers said the design was taken from the texture of tree trunks to symbolize the development of Korean culture and the Olympics, and are engraved with consonants of the Korean alphabet “hangeul” representing the Korean words for the PyeongChang Olympics. The medals were revealed simultaneously in New York where President Moon Jae-in was holding an event to promote the games. (Yonhap)
