Mirim Lee, Alison Lee and Kevin Na all set for big weekend
By Brian Han
Kevin Na is doing what he does best — hanging around the leaderboard.
The 31-year old shot an impressive 4-under 68 in blistering conditions Friday during the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio.
With winds blowing over 20 miles per hour, even world No. 12 Martin Kaymer was bullied to an 18-over total after two days.
Na drove it straighter and putted much better than the rest of the field on average this week and if he keeps it up, he should find himself in contention on Sunday.
Jimmy Walker leads the tournament after shooting a field-topping 5-under 67, and Na is just two shots behind.
On the LPGA Tour, rookie Alison Lee shot a bogey-free 6-under 66 to fall only one stroke behind leaders Lee Mirim and Morgan Pressel at the Kia Classic in Carlsbad, Calif.
Pressel shot the best round of the day with a 10-under 64 that was bogey-free as well.
Lydia Ko and Park Inbee are three and four strokes off the lead, respectively, so the world’s top two players are still very much within reach.
