Most popular candidate among Asian Americans? Bernie Sanders
By Brian Han
Times are a changin’ as Bob Dylan so eloquently put it.
Not long ago, Asian Americans more times than not strongly identified with the Republican Party.
But that trend is rapidly changing, most recently evidenced by a new Gallup report.
As U.S. presidential campaigns swing into full force and public sentiment continues to develop, one name came out on top for this particular demographic.
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders racked up a +29 point differential between “Favorable” and “Unfavorable” categories in the poll.
Although the 74-year-old stood at a distance from most of his peers, Hilary Clinton came in right on his heels at +21.
To put things into perspective, no other candidate had a positive point differential.
At the very bottom of the pack with a -43? None other than controversial Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
