NBC casts William Shatner, George Foreman, Henry Winkler in ‘Grandpas Over Flowers’ remake
By Tae Hong
An NBC crew will visit South Korea in August to prepare for its American remake of the hit variety show “Grandpas Over Flowers,” Yonhap reported.
According to Visit Korea’s Los Angeles office Tuesday, the NBC reality show, titled “Better Late Than Never,” will star William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, George Foreman and Henry Winkler.
Comedian Jeff Dye will join the group to take on the equivalent role as Lee Seo-jin’s bag carrier/human navigator.
Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will produce.
The stars will travel around the world, experience new cultures and take another step in checking off their bucket lists.
The original Korean show, aired on tvN, was one of Korean cable’s first breakout programs.
The NBC team is expected to film in Seoul, Tokyo, Kyoto, Hong Kong, Chang Mai and Bangkok.
Kim Tae-sik, head of Los Angeles’ Visit Korea, said the office has been cooperating with producers in regards to filming in Korea since last year.
“Taking into account how well-known the cast is, this will be a good opportunity to introduce Korea to Americans,” Kim said.
