North Korean romantic comedy to screen at Stony Brook University

A North Korean romantic comedy, “Comrade Kim Goes Flying,” will screen inside Stony Brook University in New York on Nov. 18.
The movie, the first-ever collaboration between North Korean, British and Belgian filmmakers, was released in 2012 and has since been seen at international film festivals in Toronto and Busan.
Set in Pyongyang, North Korea, the story follows a young coal miner as she dreams of becoming an acrobat.
Nicholas Bonner, one of the film’s directors, will hold a discussion with the audience following the screening.
