‘Northern Limit Line’ becomes S. Korea’s biggest film of the year
July 16, 2015
The South Korean film industry has found its top hit of the year so far in “Northern Limit Line,” which surpassed five million viewers Thursday.
The record makes the film the first Korean one this year to pass four million, Yonhap reported.
The film, starring Kim Mu-yeol, Jin Goo and Lee Hyun-woo, depicts the second battle at Yeonpyeong Island, against North Korea, in the Yellow Sea in 2002.
“We think the dramatic real-life events of 2002 and the depiction of human emotion moved audiences,” distributor NEW said.
