The city of New York may soon see its first female Korean American police captain.
According to a New York Police Department source, Lt. Huh Jung-yoon of Queens’ 109 Precinct passed a recent captains test.
The only other Korean American NYPD captain to date has been Capt. Billy Yun, who retired last year.
Huh, who joined the force in 1998, is expected to be assigned to a precinct overlooking a significant Korean-speaking population.
She is also known as the mother of Bianca Mobley, who was seen on South Korean television on the KBS talk show “Chat With Beauties.”
