‘Park Ji-sung wine’ goes on sale in Korea
May 13, 2014
By Kim Tong-hyung
Kumyang International, the country’s largest wine importer, has released a fruity Italian red with a label designed by Korean footballer Park Ji-sung.
The product, priced at 30,000 won, or about $30 per bottle, is promoted as a plush, easy-to-drink wine that goes well with chicken, fries and other traditional ”beer food.’’
The marketing efforts are apparently targeted to sports fans ahead of the Brazil World Cup.
Park Ji-sung, widely considered as the best Korean footballer of the past decade, may announce his retirement in a news conference in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, on Wednesday.
