Park Shin-yang Festival in Japan
“Man on the Edge,” starring seasoned Korean actor Park Shin-yang, will be released in Japan on Feb.1.
Celebrating its release, Japanese distributor SPO will concurrently hold “Park Shin-yang Festival 2014.”
Jo Jin-kyu, director of the movie “Man on the Edge,” was awarded at the Fukushima Film Awards in 2013.
Park, who has gained popularity in Japan from the television drama “Lovers in Paris,” has been holding fan meetings in Japan regularly.
“Painter of the Wind” and “Sign” are his recent hit drama series. SPO said Park’s two movies, “Hi, Dharma! (2001)” and “Meet Mr. Daddy (2006)” will be screened at Cinemart Roppongi for two weeks.
“Man on the Edge” is a story about the double life of a possessed gangster who has to become a shaman.
Director Jo studied in Waseda University and graduated with a major in film theory. His hit movies include “My Wife is a Gangster.”
