PAVA volunteers clean up Central Hollywood
By Kim Hyung-jae
A group of 120 student volunteers and parents helped clean up the Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council and a few residences Saturday.
The volunteers, members of the Pacific American Volunteer Association, hailed from a diversity of Los Angeles regions and surrounding cities, from San Bernardino to Riverside.
Brandon Lee, a tenth grader from Riverside, said he volunteers once a week.
Justin Kim, a sixth grader who lives in Rancho Cucamonga, came out with his family.
City Councilman David Ryu, who oversees the district, came out to greet the students and to thank them.
“I used to volunteer when I was younger too, and those experiences contributed to my development,” he said. “Let’s all work to clean up Los Angeles.”
